Business Profile

Business Profile KEHS was founded in 1883 as part of a foundation that dates back to 1552. The school is situated in impressive grounds in Edgbaston, Birmingham adjacent to King Edward's School for boys.

About Us The Ruddock Performing Arts Centre is a collaborative project between King Edward's School and King Edward VI High School for Girls designed to support our high quality performing arts provision. The centre comprises a concert hall with a seating capacity of up to 400, a drama studio seating 120 and a dance studio. The centre is the most significant new building on the Edgbaston site since the two schools moved here in 1936.

About Us At KEHS we aim to offer an education second to none for bright girls who like original ideas and new challenges. Girls combine a rigorous academic programme with high quality extra-curricular activities and of course each and everyone of them has lots of fun along the way! Girls do very well in external examinations and we launch each of them off to the best, top quality universities. School life is all underpinned with an ethos of service. The girls who come to KEHS know how privileged they are to be at a top UK school with teachers who are passionate about their subjects. They learn that their responsibility is to seize every opportunity so they can prepare themselves for helping others in their adult life.

We welcome girls from all backgrounds. The school thrives on the rich, cultural and social mix of girls who are attracted to the school. The school has a generous means-tested bursary scheme to ensure girls from families who could not otherwise afford to attend KEHS can still come here to the school. The school provides excellent facilities for approximately 550 girls of good academic ability from 11 to 18 years of age. Our website is not just for newcomers to KEHS but for all of our school community to use. There is a whole range of general information about the school and as you navigate through the site you can also see what the girls have been enjoying recently.
