With leisure centres in Cheslyn Hay, Codsall, Penkridge and Wombourne, South Staffordshire Council Leisure Services have a variety of locations and services available for the public.

Cheslyn Hay Leisure Centre is connected to Cheslyn Hay Sport & Community High School, located on the outskirts of Cannock.

The large facility contains a 5 court badminton and multisport hall alongside a 25m competition swimming pool, aerobics and spin studio as well as a gym facility and 3G Astro pitch.

Penkridge Leisure Centre is located on the outskirts of Penkridge and contains a wide variety of facilities, including a spacious gym, toning suite, sports hall and swimming pool.

The Codsall Leisure Centre includes facilities such as a 25 metre swimming pool, newly built fitness suite, 5-court multi-use sports hall, squash courts, dance studio, newly refurbished spinning studio as well as outdoor tennis and netball courts.

Wombourne Leisure Centre also sports a 6 lane swimming pool, state of the art gym, sports hall, toning table suite, dedicated spin cycle studio, dance and aerobic studio as well as an Active room.

Their dance studios are used deliver a huge programme of classes such as Step, Yoga, Boxercise, Tai Chi, Zumba and other conditioning classes.

The majority of the leisure centres can hold childrens parties in their sports hall and swimming pool. With various events such as inflatable parties, sportshall parties and iActive parties available, all offer a fun and active experience for the children.

School Holiday Clubs are on offer, providing children with a fun alternative to staying fit during the school holidays.

Learning how to swim is a crucial life skill and one that everyone regardless of age should learn to do. The academy operates at all 4 of the South Staffs Leisure Centres and gives new swimmers the best possible start.

Lessons are available for all ages, starting with children as young as 3 all the way up to adults. Lessons are run throughout the entire year and can help beginners reach more advanced swimming standards.

All teachers are trained and qualified, following the STA's international Learn to Swim programme. One to one lessons are also available. New enrolments are being taken on the following dates: 14th December 2015.

Affordable School Holiday Activities this October

South Staffordshire Council’s leisure centres are offering fun filled programmes this October half term (Monday 26th – Friday 30th October) to entertain children aged 5-12 year olds during the school holiday. The programmes are available at Cheslyn Hay, Codsall, Penkridge and Wombourne
