This four day Chair Based Exercise Course is designed for all health care professionals such as care workers or therapy assistants, wishing to deliver effective and safe chair-based exercise to frailer older adults and / or disabled people.

Activ4Lyfe feels the focus of the course is to give you the practical knowledge and skills vital for you to deliver safe and effective seated exercise to frailer older people and disabled adults. The course contains underpinning theory work and you will need to demonstrate your level of knowledge and competency through written assignments and practical demonstrations throughout the course.

It is important that you are able to practically demonstrate how to adapt the exercises safely and effectively to accommodate the needs and abilities of clients in order to engage with them and encourage regular exercise. There is no external examination for this course and your practical skills and knowledge will be assessed as a practical assessment on the final day to gain certification.
